The Nirvana of any design period is to find something that is a one off. Bespoke pieces of furniture usually come with hefty price tags and are owned by the wealthy few. Well Retrorumage is bringing you the opportunity to own a rare one off piece of Irish made mid 20th design.
Above is a lounge chair designed in Dublin in 1960 by a gentleman called Andrew Thomson. Little is known of his work but you can see from this chair that he was highly influenced by Scandinavian and American design of the late 50’s. The chair is a hand finished piece that oozes quality and craftsmanship. It is upholstered in a brown Dripsey tweed and has recently been re-polished.
